Lift networks

When creating networks of lifts/runs, any lift that goes up to a lift hub is unable to run due to no downwards run. See example below - I have lifts running from: A > C B > C B > D D > C I want to offer a lift from A > B between to hubs of lifts, but because B has no downwards trails, the lift is disabled. If there is a hub that has an onward lift, the restriction on downwards lifts should be remove, and the guest treat the first lift at the same difficulty/routing as the second lift(s).

Prompt/UI to assign staff to vacancies after hiring

When a player either hires staff via the staff menu, or removes a staff member from a job, that staff member is left in the roster with no job. The assign button does let a player try to assign staff to a job, but doesn’t show which buildings have vacancies/current staffing levels. Suggested ideas: Prompt players to assign new or removed staff straight away if there are vacancies of that staff type. Show a list of the vacancies for that staff type, and the buildings’ current staff levels and location. Highlight the viable options on the map so players can see where these jobs are - e.g. lifts with vacancies show green when in the vacancy assignment UI. Add an option to “Keep unassigned” if a player wishes to - this should suppress warnings until there is a change in vacancies for that type. Show/use the number on the “Staff” button like promotions to indicate when there are staff that are unassigned. Add a notice to the monthly summary when there are vacancies/surplus staff to encourage players to more actively manage staff. (e.g. 20 lifties for 16 jobs)

Activity : Concert Event

With a stage built guests arrive after the lifts close to attend a concert, they may use any of the shop on site. Concerts could be events that are offered at various intervals

Walking with Ski Equipment

Skiers currently spawn ski’s or snowboards when they used them at the top of the mountain, it would be more realistic if they carried them when walking, maybe something triggers them to collect/drop off equipment from specified places before/after skiing so they can still walk around sometimes without them

No Snow Areas

Have the ability to paint areas of the ground to designate them as no snow areas which a staff type could be assigned to keep clear of snow, maybe the skiers walk faster on snow cleared areas

Build without Keyboard

Adding cancel to the right mouse button in build mode would allow for building without having to press escape, rotating buildings during build or move by holding the left mouse button would allow for not using the q/e keys.

Trail Split Tool

After placing a trail, the tools to edit the trails are fairly limited and if there is a case where you want to split a trail midway down, the player has to cut back a trail and place a new one. A trail split tool would be handy for these situations. The tool should work to divide a trail at a node (would be best to cut anywhere). This automatically renames the upper and lower segments to have the “Upper” or “Lower” prefix (A third cut would result in a “middle” prefix to the corresponding trail). Each trail section would be its own trail that has its own properties.

Tree placing brush

A tree placing brush would be great to make more custom tree runs, and filling back in spots where you removed trees The brush should feature for sure size of the total brush, and also density of tree placement. Tree assortment has lots of options with what you could do with that, but a starting point would be like .5% of trees are dead, and then a ratio of different sized trees. This would be a great feature for making custom tree runs easier, instead of having to manually place trees by hand, or carefully remove trees. I normally use a really small remove tree brush, but sometimes it can make the tree removal look too artificial with what look like lines taken out of the forest. Also a small tree brush could be used for refilling parts of the forest close to base areas without have to manually place trees.

Lift Terminal graphics

I know this would be a pain in the butt and a mini-app, but what if there were a little color picker widget in the control panel for high-speed quads, sixes, gondolas, and the name you give it shows up in-game?

Ski Patrol

When ski patrol helps someone they don’t just teleport, they bring them down on a stretcher. Ski patrol should do that, and a required thing for Ski patrol should be a base-station which houses injured people.

Backcountry Skiing

This should be a late-game thing where you can set some trails as only accessible by a cat-track or boot-back, aka back country.

Skiers walking on skies

In real life people stay on their ski’s or snowboards between lifts and don’t just get off. If I have to reach the next lift 2 feet away I wont walk, Ill stay on skis.

Groups

It may be something which is not possible for performance issues, but you could also just make it an option. It would be where groups travel together and enjoy the day, and stick together. Small detail, more realism.

Lift Line Customizations

Like ones at Nordic Mountain and some other ski resorts have the ability for a ski line to be split in 2 and have someone guide the flow on busy days. It would help not having all the traffic condensed in one spot.

In real life often times many lifts are painted or fitted to their locations, and it would just be a cool feature to have.

Be able to change trail width on same trail

Hi! I’ve been really enjoying the demo so far, it makes me think of way back in the day playing ski resort tycoon. It would be nice if we could widen/narrow down portions of runs rather than the whole run at once, so that skiers can have more or less space if the terrain allows it

1

Condense area summaries for larger lists

When building larger resorts, the member item list becomes large. It could benefit from summarising the content when the building does not have a custom name - e.g: Ticket Office Waffle Stand Ski Patrol Hut 5x Warming Huts Snowcat Shed 2x Coffee Stand Etc

QoL: Controls that don’t require mouse and kb together

Loving the demo so far, but running up against usability friction that takes me out of it. Any function that can’t be done by the mouse alone (preferred) or keyboard alone but require both simultaneously (e.g. Ctrl + Mousewheel) are challenging. This is likely more of an ”adaptive” or “accessibility” thing but I imagine it would be less user friction even for your typical 2-handed player.

Heatmap of visitor movements

It would be nice to show a heatmap of the resort, by season/month/day, skier type, or a particular skier to see where they have visited. Return visitors could show a greater completion level for the resort. Example: https://support.strava.com/en-us/articles/16046277-a-guide-to-strava-heatmaps
