Ski/snowboard stands
In the game, skiers walk on their feet and don’t carry their equipment, but would be cool to add decorations such as ski racks or stands
Multi-Day Passes & Hotels
Might be difficult to implement, but instead of guests coming for one day, then leaving, having the chance to buy multiple day passes, then stay at the resort at hotels, apartments, camping grounds, etc. This opens up also the chance for other revenue routes, and add ons (think Spas, restaurants, town shops, etc), with the end goal of not just creating a Ski Resort, but a Ski Town
Various rope tows
I know surface lifts are asked for and probably on the way. The humble rope tow has a number of different styles. I would like to see the various sorts avaliable. 3 different types come to mind. The Rope, (pretty self explanatory) The fixed grip (with the plastic handles) NZ special Nutcracker rope tows with the belt and metal grip. I think this one could be potentially be used to limit access for Jerry’s to the more advanced terrain with a failure rate depending on experience. (This idea could also be applied to other tows which would be nice).
The Pyrenees
Add the Pyrenees as a new ski area, these are the 2nd more important ski area in Europe. These are locate between Spain and France, including Andorra, and have really large and important ski resorts like Formigal, Grandvalira, La Molina, Font Romeu… It has peaks over 3000 metres and would have a great challenge.
Profiles
Both me and my dad play this game and we find it hard to save both maps easily. It would be great to make a save profile where each seperate map is saved.
Walking Tours
A group assembles at a tour shop at a specified time of day and then goes together with a guide (new staff member) up the mountain by lift and then walks down a specified path. The number of tours available would depend on the number of staff hired
Cheaper Accomodation Options
The current cheapest option in the build menu looks like a cabin, for smaller resorts the option for chalets and campsites would give more variety in town builds
Snow park: show which features are not rideable, and why
Problem: The snow park trail lists its features and says how many are rideable and how many are not. It does not tell me which ones are not rideable, or why. I must open the trail and check each feature to find the problem. Possible fixes: Mark each feature in the list as rideable or not rideable. Show the reason (e.g. too steep, no approach, landing blocked). Click a feature in the list to jump the camera to it. Highlight non-rideable features on the map. In the mountain operations trail list, show each trail's features and the rideable / not rideable count.
Night lighting map overlay and feedback
Problem: Guests complained that night skiing was too dark. I added lights, but the game gave no feedback. I could not tell if the lights worked, which areas were covered, or how bright they were. Request: A night lighting map overlay. Show light coverage and brightness level on trails (heat map). Mark trail sections below the target brightness. Show the lighting level in the trail stats panel. Show a preview of the light radius when placing a light.
Quick-build palette / hotbar
Problem: Each time I build, I must open the Build menu and find the item again. This is slow when I build a snow park, place lights, or decorate the village, because I switch between a few items many times. Request: A quick-build palette or hotbar. Pin frequently used items (e.g. 1-9 slots or a radial menu). Auto-fill with recently built items. Switch items with one click or one key, without leaving build mode.
Extra stats for lifts
This would behave the exact same as the run stats (like shown in the image) but just for the lifts.
Lift networks
When creating networks of lifts/runs, any lift that goes up to a lift hub is unable to run due to no downwards run. See example below - I have lifts running from: A > C B > C B > D D > C I want to offer a lift from A > B between to hubs of lifts, but because B has no downwards trails, the lift is disabled. If there is a hub that has an onward lift, the restriction on downwards lifts should be remove, and the guest treat the first lift at the same difficulty/routing as the second lift(s).
Prompt/UI to assign staff to vacancies after hiring
When a player either hires staff via the staff menu, or removes a staff member from a job, that staff member is left in the roster with no job. The assign button does let a player try to assign staff to a job, but doesn’t show which buildings have vacancies/current staffing levels. Suggested ideas: Prompt players to assign new or removed staff straight away if there are vacancies of that staff type. Show a list of the vacancies for that staff type, and the buildings’ current staff levels and location. Highlight the viable options on the map so players can see where these jobs are - e.g. lifts with vacancies show green when in the vacancy assignment UI. Add an option to “Keep unassigned” if a player wishes to - this should suppress warnings until there is a change in vacancies for that type. Show/use the number on the “Staff” button like promotions to indicate when there are staff that are unassigned. Add a notice to the monthly summary when there are vacancies/surplus staff to encourage players to more actively manage staff. (e.g. 20 lifties for 16 jobs)
Activity : Concert Event
With a stage built guests arrive after the lifts close to attend a concert, they may use any of the shop on site. Concerts could be events that are offered at various intervals
Walking with Ski Equipment
Skiers currently spawn ski’s or snowboards when they used them at the top of the mountain, it would be more realistic if they carried them when walking, maybe something triggers them to collect/drop off equipment from specified places before/after skiing so they can still walk around sometimes without them
No Snow Areas
Have the ability to paint areas of the ground to designate them as no snow areas which a staff type could be assigned to keep clear of snow, maybe the skiers walk faster on snow cleared areas
End The Day At Midnight
The day/month currently ends at 11pm, it would make more sense if it ended at midnight
Build without Keyboard
Adding cancel to the right mouse button in build mode would allow for building without having to press escape, rotating buildings during build or move by holding the left mouse button would allow for not using the q/e keys.
Trail Split Tool
After placing a trail, the tools to edit the trails are fairly limited and if there is a case where you want to split a trail midway down, the player has to cut back a trail and place a new one. A trail split tool would be handy for these situations. The tool should work to divide a trail at a node (would be best to cut anywhere). This automatically renames the upper and lower segments to have the “Upper” or “Lower” prefix (A third cut would result in a “middle” prefix to the corresponding trail). Each trail section would be its own trail that has its own properties.
